Taking selfies with your phone? That’s old news! With your own personal selfie drone, you’ll launch yourself straight into 2026.
Yes, you read that right: a selfie drone.
You might be wondering: what exactly is it? It’s an ultra-compact drone weighing only 142 grams that can take off and land directly in the palm of your hand. It features built-in storage, autonomous flight modes, and can capture high-resolution photos and videos — all with minimal effort.
This is the S161 selfie drone, developed by Feivio.

I’ve tested many drones before — from large multi-camera models to compact drones with powerful 4K cameras. But since I had never used a selfie drone before, I was initially unsure how it would differ from traditional camera drones.
The first thing that surprised me was the camera-assisted servo control system and the remote controller with a 4.5-inch HD display.
The S161 features optical flow positioning and offers six different flight modes: Hover, Pull-Away, Orbit, Follow-Me, Bird’s-Eye View, and a customizable mode.

Yes, it does feel a little strange at first to trust a drone to fly autonomously.
Another thing that impressed me was its lightweight design. This selfie drone weighs only 142 grams — almost half the weight of a DJI Mini 3 Pro. It’s extremely compact, and the propellers are surrounded by protective guards to help protect your fingers and eyes.
When not in use, it folds down completely for easy storage.
Operation is incredibly simple: charge the battery, unfold the body, insert the battery, power it on, and launch — that’s it.
To be honest, I didn’t expect much from this drone at first. But honestly, I’m genuinely impressed by what it can do.
The camera performs surprisingly well for its size, delivering solid results in good to moderate lighting conditions. The videos are smooth and clear, and the colors look pretty good. The image quality is roughly comparable to an entry-level smartphone camera — perfect for social media.
The flight modes are excellent as well. Once the drone launches and completes its task, it automatically returns and hovers in the air until you place your hand underneath it to catch it. It handles wind speeds of around 32 km/h without any issues. The drone also includes obstacle detection sensors. While collisions can’t always be avoided, after several crashes into walls and trees, I can confidently say the body is impressively durable.
The battery performance is also impressive. A full charge provides around 12 flights. That means you can quickly capture selfies, orbit shots, and bird’s-eye views, shoot Follow-Me videos, and still have enough power left for several more recordings.
I’m seriously impressed. Really.
With many other drones, autonomous flight modes often feel disappointing. Normally, I would never recommend launching or landing a drone from your hand — let alone flying it close to your face. But the Feivio S161 was designed specifically for that purpose, and it handles the job exceptionally well.
I originally thought it was just a toy — but it’s definitely not.
This drone is unbelievably easy to use. For selfies and travel snapshots, it’s practically perfect — and in my opinion, it can easily replace many “action camera on a selfie stick” setups.
It’s fun, unique, and delivers truly creative perspectives.
And the Feivio S161 costs only 134 Swiss francs. In comparison, the DJI Mini 3 costs around 378 Swiss francs. While the DJI Mini 3 offers far more advanced features, it doesn’t fully replace the S161.
At their core, these are two completely different products.
If you’re looking for a drone that can capture selfies and group photos like a selfie stick — but with added fun and creative features — then the Feivio S161 delivers exactly that and more.
It will completely transform your social media content!
However, if you’re looking for a professional drone that delivers a true piloting experience and high-end aerial photography, then a traditional drone will probably be a better fit for you.
